The ZMX Deep Dive
Rest & Relaxation / Recovery / Mineral Forms / Immune Health / Hormonal Support
Rest. Recover. Recharge.
A strong recovery routine starts with the ability to switch gears. ZMX brings magnesium, zinc and active B6 together to support the systems involved in relaxation, muscle function, immune health and healthy hormonal function.†
The goal is simple: support your body as you wind down, rest and prepare for the next day. Magnesium has a central role in muscle and nerve activity; zinc contributes to cellular maintenance; and B6 connects amino-acid metabolism with neurotransmitter production. These complementary roles give the formula a purpose that extends beyond bedtime.
ZMX is melatonin-free. Its approach centers on essential nutrients and their place in recovery, with mineral forms chosen deliberately and a clear capsule without added filler blends or artificial colors.
Magnesium: From Tension to Relaxation
Magnesium helps regulate the movement of minerals involved in muscle contraction and nerve signaling. It also participates in the cellular handling of ATP, the energy currency used throughout the body. Supporting magnesium intake therefore connects two important priorities: helping muscles function properly and supporting the energy-dependent work of recovery.† [1]
For the evening routine, the relevant connection is the transition from activity to rest. Magnesium supports muscle relaxation and nervous-system function, making it a logical foundation for a formula built around winding down.† Its role is nutritional and ongoing: the same mineral that supports your working muscles also supports them between training sessions.
Why Albion® and Chelated Mineral Forms?
Mineral form matters because a nutrient has to be absorbed before the body can use it. ZMX’s magnesium complex combines Albion® DiMagnesium Malate and TRAACS® Magnesium Bisglycinate Chelate. Malate associates magnesium with malic acid, while bisglycinate binds it to the amino acid glycine. The magnesium complex contains no magnesium oxide.
We choose Albion® minerals for their purposeful forms and established chelation technology. Amino-acid chelation creates a reacted mineral–ligand structure, with identity verification that goes beyond simply mixing a mineral salt and an amino acid. Albion’s approach is designed around absorption and gastrointestinal tolerance—qualities that matter when choosing minerals for a nightly routine. [7]
Human research helps explain the interest in chelated magnesium. In a randomized crossover trial in twelve people with ileal resections, magnesium diglycinate was better tolerated than magnesium oxide. Absorption was similar overall, with greater chelate absorption in the four participants who absorbed oxide most poorly. [8] We use mineral forms selected with absorption and tolerance in mind, and our magnesium complex is free of magnesium oxide.
Restful Sleep: What Human Research Shows
Magnesium has been studied in people looking for better sleep. In a four-week randomized, placebo-controlled trial in 155 adults reporting poor sleep, 250 mg daily magnesium as bisglycinate improved Insomnia Severity Index scores by 3.9 points, compared with 2.3 points with placebo. [4] This research highlights magnesium’s potential to support a more restful night.
An earlier eight-week trial enrolled forty-six older adults with insomnia and supplied 500 mg daily magnesium or placebo. The magnesium group improved on several reported measures, including sleep efficiency and sleep-onset latency. [9]
These studies bring human research to magnesium’s role in a rest-focused routine. Alongside its work in muscle relaxation and nervous-system function, magnesium may support sleep quality with consistent use. We built ZMX around that goal: help you wind down, rest well and feel ready for the next day.†
Recovery That Continues After Training
Training creates the demand; recovery gives your body the opportunity to respond. ZMX supports this phase through the nutritional roles of its ingredients. Magnesium contributes to muscle function and cellular energy metabolism. Zinc supports protein synthesis and cell division. Active B6 participates in the processing of amino acids used throughout the body.† [1–3]
These roles complement a recovery routine built around sufficient rest and nutrition. Whether you train hard, stay physically active or finish long days feeling depleted, the aim is to support the systems you rely on again tomorrow. ZMX brings those priorities together in an evening formula: relaxation first, with muscle and metabolic support alongside it.†
Zinc: Support for Your Immune Defenses
Your immune system works continuously, including while you rest. Zinc supports the development and activity of immune cells and helps maintain the cellular processes behind a healthy immune response. It also participates in protein synthesis, DNA synthesis and cell division—functions that connect immune health with ongoing tissue maintenance.† [2]
That makes zinc a meaningful part of ZMX’s recovery story. The formula is about supporting readiness for everyday demands as well as the period between workouts. Active B6 complements zinc by supporting lymphocyte activity and immune signaling. Alongside the rest-and-relaxation focus of the formula, these nutrients make immune support an integral part of the nightly routine.† [3,11]
ZMX supplies 30 mg zinc per serving as TRAACS® Zinc Bisglycinate Chelate. The ingredient choice combines an essential nutrient with a deliberately selected chelated form.
Restful Sleep and Immune Readiness
Restful sleep supports more than how you feel the next morning. It helps create conditions for immune cells to communicate and for adaptive immune memory to develop. This is why supporting rest fits naturally alongside nutrients that contribute to immune function.† [10]
In a controlled human experiment, nineteen healthy adults either slept or stayed awake during the night after immunization. Four weeks later, the group that slept had a stronger antigen-specific antibody response. Related human research has linked sleep with longer-lasting immune memory. These findings show how sleep itself contributes to healthy immune function. [10]
ZMX brings the two priorities together: magnesium and active B6 support the nervous-system side of winding down, while zinc and B6 support immune-cell function.† It is a complementary approach to your evening routine—supporting rest and supplying nutrients that help your immune system do its work.
Zinc and Healthy Hormonal Function
Zinc is involved in healthy reproductive physiology, and adequate zinc status is relevant to maintaining healthy testosterone levels. This is one reason zinc belongs in a formula aimed at supporting recovery and overall readiness.† [6]
Prasad and colleagues explored this relationship in human research. Restricting zinc intake in four young men reduced testosterone over twenty weeks. In nine older men with marginal zinc deficiency, supplementation with zinc gluconate over six months increased testosterone concentrations. [6]
Maintaining adequate zinc nutrition supports healthy hormonal function, especially when dietary intake falls short. We include zinc as part of ZMX’s foundation for hormonal, immune and cellular support, pairing those nutritional roles with a bisglycinate form selected for absorption.†
Why Zinc Bisglycinate Instead of a Basic Salt?
Bisglycinate describes zinc coordinated with glycine, rather than zinc supplied as a basic inorganic salt. Chelation is used to influence how a mineral behaves in the digestive environment and becomes available for absorption. [7]
In a randomized crossover study, twelve healthy women received a single 15 mg dose of zinc from bisglycinate or gluconate, with a seven-day washout between treatments. The tested bisglycinate formulation produced 43.4% greater oral bioavailability based on serum-zinc measurements. [5]
We choose TRAACS® Zinc Bisglycinate Chelate to pair zinc’s immune, cellular and healthy hormonal roles with a form selected for absorption. The 15 mg comparison above gives that choice human research context; ZMX provides 30 mg zinc per serving in its chelated form.†
P5P: Active B6 for Nervous-System Support
Pyridoxal-5′-Phosphate, often shortened to P5P or PLP, is an active coenzyme form of vitamin B6. ZMX uses this form instead of conventional pyridoxine HCl. Its coenzyme identity is the reason for the choice: a purposeful form for a formula built around nervous-system and metabolic support.
B6-dependent enzymes participate in the pathways that produce neurotransmitters, including serotonin and GABA. These chemical messengers are involved in communication across the nervous system, linking B6 nutrition with the systems relevant to relaxation and mood. B6 also supports amino-acid metabolism and immune function. In a controlled depletion-and-repletion study in eight older adults, inadequate B6 reduced lymphocyte responses and interleukin-2 production; these measures recovered with nutritional repletion. This connects adequate B6 intake with the cellular machinery of immune defense.† [3,11]
The benefit is purposeful nutritional support in an active coenzyme form. Alongside magnesium and zinc, P5P rounds out a formula focused on rest, recovery and readiness for the next day.†
A Focused Formula, a Clear Capsule
We keep ZMX focused: magnesium, zinc and active B6, with no magnesium oxide, added filler blends or artificial capsule colors. A clear vegetable capsule holds the formula. Purposeful ingredients, carefully selected mineral forms and a simple capsule format make it easy to build your nightly routine.
Each three-capsule serving supplies 400 mg magnesium, 30 mg zinc and 10 mg B6. Ninety capsules provide thirty servings. ZMX is melatonin-free, giving you an evening option centered on mineral and vitamin support.
Restful sleep, relaxation, recovery, immune health and healthy hormonal function all contribute to the same aim: feeling prepared for the day ahead. ZMX brings these complementary nutritional priorities into one nightly formula.†
